Almost since debut, ADOR’s NewJeans has been one of the most popular K-pop groups in the world, and their Bunnies fandom is utterly rabid to learn even the smallest details about each member. That means, inevitably, that people would want to know where they fall with the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) personality test. MBTI is far from a foolproof science, but it’s a fun thing to discuss as long as you remember not to take it too seriously. So if you want a slight glimpse of how the girls compare for personality, here is the current MBTI for NewJeans members Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein.
NewJeans MBTI for All Members
- Minji has an MBTI of ENTJ.
- Hanni has an MBTI of INFP.
- Danielle has an MBTI of ENFP.
- Haerin has an MBTI of ISTP.
- Hyein has an MBTI of INFP.
At present, most of these MBTI results are taken from the NewJeans YouTube video “[Jeans’ ZINE] MBTI 탐구 시간 EP.1,” published December 1, 2022, in which the NewJeans members took the MBTI test for the specific purpose of discussing it in that video. However, at that time, Minji had received a result of ESTJ, but on NewJeans’ Phoning app, she reportedly updated fans on July 13, 2023 that she had changed to ENTJ. Thus, it is recorded as such above. If member MBTIs change further with time (which seems quite possible), this space shall be updated to address that.
The members had previously taken the MBTI test prior to the December 2022 YouTube video, and in fact, three members had previously received a different result for the test. Danielle had previously been ENFJ, Haerin had previously been INTP, and Hyein had previously been ENFP. The December 2022 test showed that Danielle had changed from “J” to “P” by only three points. (This test offered a maximum score of 30 points for a given letter, and Danielle did receive all 30 points for “E.”) Haerin changed from “N” to “S” by eight points. (She received a full 30 points for “I.”) And Hyein changed from “E” to “I” by eight points. (She had the closest thing to “down the middle” scores for each letter, which she humorously attributed to how she was still going through puberty.)
At present, only Minji has remained a resolute INFP in NewJeans! So in the current group composition, the only “J” (“Judging”) member of NewJeans is Minji, while the only remaining “S” (“Sensing”) member is Haerin. That means, in theory, that Minji has the mindset most conducive to planning and step-by-step structure, and Haerin is the member mostly likely to process information according to what her senses tell her, as opposed to engaging in abstract thinking. But it’s worth one more reminder that MBTI is not an exact science!
