Candy Shop made their debut on March 27, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. KST with their first mini-album, Hashtag#. The tracklist for Hashtag# contains four songs in total: “Hashtag#,” “Good Girl” (title track, despite not literally being the title track), “No Fake,” and “Candy#.” “Good Girl” was composed by Brave Brothers and 레드쿠키 (RedCookie), with lyrics provided by the former and the arranging performed by the latter. MABOOS, JS, and 차쿤 (Chakun) also worked on other songs on the album, meaning that all the currently known producers at Brave Entertainment worked on the album. It was known in advance that the album would contain at least three songs, as the girls stated that they had practiced three songs during their first practice vlog, which was released on February 29, 2024. Prior to then, Candy Shop social media had first become active on February 12, 2024, and the group’s first dance performance was uploaded in tandem. The “Good Girl” music video was released in tandem with the official debut.
Prior to Candy Shop, Sui and Sarang were known to the public for competing on the 2021-2022 MBC survival competition, My Teenage Girl. (Coincidentally, Rescene member Minami competed on My Teenage Girl as well, and Rescene also has a March 2024 debut.) Meanwhile, it would seem that Soram featured in the DBK music video, “All Yours,” in August 2023. DBK is of course another group created by Brave Entertainment.
