When Did P1Harmony Debut?

FNC Entertainment had vast ambitions with its K-pop boy group, P1Harmony, from the very beginning. As the company has explained, “P1Harmony is a combination of Plus, the number 1 and Harmony, which means children with unlimited potential to create various harmonies with ‘Team’ and ‘One’ added.” And FNC made the wild decision to introduce the group to the world by having the members star in a full-blown sci-fi action movie, P1H: The Beginning of a New World, which it released on October 8, 2020. (We have a complete plot synopsis of the P1H movie with some additional details about the filming, if you’re so inclined!) But after that, it was time to officially debut as a music group. So here is the answer to when exactly Theo, Keeho, Jiung, Intak, Soul, and Jongseob made their debut as P1Harmony and what their first album was.

P1Harmony Debuted on October 28, 2020 with Disharmony : Stand Out

P1Harmony made their debut on October 28, 2020 with the mini-album Disharmony : Stand Out and lead single “Siren,” whose music video was released on the same day. Disharmony : Stand Out contained six songs in total: “Intro; 틀 (Breakthrough),” “Siren,” “네모네이드 (Nemonade),” “이거지 (That’s It),” “Butterfly,” and “Skit; Disharmony #1.” The P1Harmony members contributed lyrics across the album, and their involvement in the music production process would increase with time.

On the day of their debut, the group held a debut showcase. After that, P1Harmony would perform on television for the first time on October 29, 2020 at M Countdown with “Siren.”

One month prior to debut, in September 2023, Keeho had faced a racism controversy involving an old social media account that he had owned but shared with other people. However, Keeho successfully cleared up the situation with a handwritten letter explanation, and we have detailed the journey of Keeho (who is also the leader of P1Harmony) separately. This event fortunately had minimal ultimate impact on the group’s debut.

Incidentally, Keeho has also discussed in the past how the training period at FNC Entertainment was stressful, as it was never clear who would ultimately debut. When Keeho arrived at FNC, only Jiung and Intak were already there among the P1H members, and he explained, “[T]here was a whole bunch of other dudes, and … they were actually a debut team without me at first. So it was they were supposed to debut and I was kind of not there yet because I was a newbie or whatever. But then those guys all got cut or left, and then I got in, and then even from there a lot of lineup changes [occurred].” He added, “This guy that I was training with for so long — all of a sudden he’s gone. I’m like, ‘Oh! That sucks.'” Keeho explained that FNC kept changing the lineup until the group chemistry felt right, and it was “not an easy process” physically or emotionally. However, in the end, it resulted in the group we know now.

So in summary, P1Harmony made their debut on October 28, 2020 with Disharmony : Stand Out and the lead song, “Siren.” The group would release two more mini-albums in the Disharmony trilogy, being Disharmony : Break Out in April 2021 and Disharmony : Find Out in January 2022, and P1Harmony has sold hundreds of thousands of albums in total to date. Each comeback brings new excitement.
