SM Entertainment K-pop girl group Red Velvet is an iconic force in the industry. They were around long before the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) personality test reached full velocity in South Korean culture, but since fans love to know what their favorite idols’ MBTI are, these ladies got in on the trend all the same. In fact, by her own admission, Yeri retakes the MBTI test on a regular basis, and she and Joy seem to be more enthusiastic about it than the others. So to learn a bit more about the personalities of some beloved idols, here is all the MBTI info for Red Velvet members Irene, Seulgi, Wendy, Joy, and Yeri.
Red Velvet MBTI for Irene, Seulgi, Wendy, Joy, & Yeri
- Irene has an MBTI of ISFJ.
- Seulgi has an MBTI of ISFP.
- Wendy has an MBTI of ISFP.
- Joy has an MBTI of INFJ.
- Yeri has an MBTI of INTP.
This Red Velvet MBTI information comes straight from the members themselves, and the “Ladies Ni9ht : Red Velvet 9th Anniversary” stream, aired August 1, 2023, provides a convenient and currently accurate summary for most members. (The one exception is Joy, who changed from INFP to INFJ by November 2023.) Some of the members’ MBTI have changed potentially more than once over time or according to the situation, while some members have taken the test only once or twice and are not even fully confident in the result! However, these are the most current results that represent them.
To give an idea of changes over time, during another Red Velvet live stream, from November 2022, Wendy explained that she had recently changed from ISFP to ISFJ, but she is evidently ISFP again now. Conversely, back during that November 2022 stream, Irene did not even know her MBTI, and it is at least possible that her current result is not extremely reliable either. However, this simply serves as a good reminder that MBTI is more just something to discuss for fun, rather than anything with important and serious value!
Regardless, as you can see, Red Velvet is a fully introverted group, with not a single “E” (“Extroverted”) in the group! Other girl groups who are fully introverted (at least at one point or another) include the likes of Le Sserafim and VCHA. Additionally, in the current MBTI composition, Yeri is the only “T” (“Thinking”). This would imply that Yeri is more likely to logically think through problems, as opposed to approaching problems from the perspective of how people feel.
That is all there is to know about the current MBTI for the Red Velvet members, but it’s important not to reduce Irene, Seulgi, Wendy, Joy, and Yeri to just a bunch of letters. They all have strong and distinct personalities that are worth getting to know! But as any of their MBTIs change further in the future, this space is being updated accordingly.
