Itzy is a unique gem of the K-pop world. While they’ve never quite reached the same level of popularity as their big sister group at JYP Entertainment, Twice, they have a rabid international fanbase that loves both their music and also how hard the members studied to learn English. Itzy has really come a long way since they debuted on February 11, 2019 with the lead single “Dalla Dalla” on the single album IT’z Different. - Yeji is 24 years old and was born on May 26, 2000.
- Lia is 23 years old and was born on July 21, 2000.
- Ryujin is 23 years old and was born on April 17, 2001.
- Chaeryeong is 23 years old and was born on June 5, 2001.
- Yuna is 20 years old and was born on December 9, 2003.
This means that when Itzy debuted back in February 2019, their ages were as follows: Yeji was 18, Lia was 18, Ryujin was 17, Chaeryeong was 17, and Yuna was 15. Yuna is the maknae (“youngest person in the group”), but she is also the visual. Meanwhile, Yeji is both the oldest member and the leader of Itzy. However, Yeji had deep apprehension about being chosen as the leader prior to debut, fearing she would not be up to the task. Fortunately, time proved those fears to be unfounded.
Lia went on hiatus from Itzy on September 18, 2023 to seek treatment for “extreme anxiety,” but it is expected she will return eventually. The group is currently promoting as four members, and she is not promoting the Born to Be comeback.
