When Did IVE Debut?

IVE from Starship Entertainment is the group that ensured the fourth generation of K-pop girl groups would not be exclusively dominated by the “Big 4” companies. With a group that includes not just a diverse skill set but two members who had already previously debuted to acclaim in the limited-time group Iz*One, IVE seemed destined for success right from the beginning. So here we will explain when exactly did IVE debut and what their first album and song were.

IVE Debuted on December 1, 2021 with the Song “Eleven”

Gaeul, Yujin, Rei, Wonyoung, Liz, and Leeseo debuted as IVE on December 1, 2021 with single album Eleven and the lead song of the same name, whose music video landed on the same day that the album did. Eleven contained two songs in total, “Eleven” and “Take It.” “Eleven” was composed by Ryan S. Jhun, Peter Rycroft, and Lauren Aquilina and arranged by Ryan S. Jhun, Lostboy, and Alawn, with lyrics by Seo Jieum. “Take It” was composed by Daniel Kim, Jeremy G(Future Sound), and Willie Weeks and was also arranged by Willie Weeks, and Lee Seuran provided the lyrics. The release of Eleven had followed from an IVE introductory film called “Have What We Want,” which Starship had released on November 12, 2021.

Prior to debuting in IVE, Yujin and Wonyoung had been members of Iz*One, which debuted in October 2018 and whose activities officially ended on April 29, 2021. As mentioned above, they had garnered considerable popularity during that time.

Besides a media showcase performance on the day of their debut, IVE performed for the first time on December 3, 2021 on Music Bank. Since then, IVE has found increasing levels of popularity with each subsequent release, with hits such as “Love Dive,” “After Like,” and “I Am.” “Love Dive” in particular would find stupendous success, winning various accolades such as MAMA Song of the Year for 2022.

That is everything you need to know about when IVE made their debut, and “Eleven” was a solid first song to start things off.
