Every K-pop group has its adoring fans, but with their incredible aptitude for speaking English, in addition to the quality of their music and their individual skills, it seems that JYP Entertainment girl group Itzy has an especially large and vocal international fanbase. Yeji, Lia, Ryujin, Chaeryeong, and Yuna have come a long way since debuting in February 2019 with “Dalla Dalla,” but fans are always excited to see what’s in store next. So here is the exact answer as to when the next Itzy comeback is — which in this case is for their eighth Korean mini-album, Born to Be.
Itzy Had a Comeback on January 8, 2024 with Born to Be
Itzy came back on January 8, 2024 at 4:00 a.m. ET / 6:00 p.m. KST with their eighth Korean mini-album, Born to Be. (The US physical album was available beginning February 9, 2024.) The Born to Be album contains 10 songs in total, five of which are individual solo songs for each Itzy member, in which each member participated in the lyrics and composition of their respective song. The Born to Be tracklist is as follows: “Born to Be,” “Untouchable” (title track), “Mr. Vampire,” “Dynamite,” “Crown on My Head” (Yeji solo track), “Blossom” (Lia solo track), “Run Away” (Ryujin solo track), “Mine” (Chaeryeong solo track), “Yet, But” (Yuna solo track), and “Escalator.” Notably, although Lia contributed the song “Blossom” to the album, Lia is otherwise not part of this comeback album, its promotions, or its associated world tour, because she is still recovering from an anxiety disorder.
The Itzy Born to Be promotion scheduler demonstrates there were seven music videos for this album, including for the solo songs (excluding Lia’s song) across December, followed by a “Mr. Vampire” MV on January 2, 2023 KST, and culminating in an “Untouchable” MV on January 8, 2024. Check out our convenient archive of all the Itzy music videos to watch each of these videos. (Also, please note that the Born to Be album is not to be confused with the Kiss of Life mini-album, Born to be XX!)
The Itzy Born to Be album is available to purchase at the Itzy Official Store in A, B, and C versions, with the option to purchase an album that includes a message autographed by an Itzy member. It is also available to purchase at Target with an exclusive item package set and at Barnes & Noble with an exclusive Polaroid photo. Born to Be is available to purchase from Amazon as well. Additionally, as of January 15, 2024, there is even a special edition Mr. Vampire version of the Born to Be album.
Prior to Born to Be, Itzy had released its first full Japanese album, Ringo, on October 18, 2023, which contains 11 songs in total. This means that Itzy released to what amounts to back-to-back studio albums, even though Born to Be was marketed as a mini-album.
In summary, the Itzy comeback happened on January 8, 2024 at 4:00 a.m. ET / 6:00 p.m. KST with the Born to Be studio album, and it was released physically in the United States on February 9, 2024. The album contains one solo song from each of the five Itzy members, including Lia, even though Lia is otherwise not participating in this comeback and its associated world tour.
