Zico is one of the more celebrated artists in K-pop, for his talent as a rapper and his songwriting skills both as a soloist and during his time as the leader of the group Block B. As such, it generated great excitement when Zico created his own company, KOZ Entertainment, which was acquired by Big Hit Entertainment (HYBE) in November 2020. And with Boynextdoor being the first K-pop boy group to debut at KOZ on May 30, 2023, produced by Zico, it opened an exciting new chapter in K-pop boy groups in general. At the time that the group debuted in May 2023, the members were the following ages: Sungho was 19, Riwoo was 19, Jaehyun was 19, Taesan was 18, Leehan was 18, and Woonhak was 16. All of the Boynextdoor members debuted as adults except Woonhak. Woonhak is the maknae, meaning he is the youngest member of the group. KOZ Entertainment drip-fed information about the group as their debut approached, and the company had fun sharing one detail at a time. This culminated in a [BOYNEXTDOOR TONIGHT] showcase video at debut, where the group members finally revealed more about themselves through a self-interview session, an outdoor prank segment, and a studio game. In a roundabout way, it was actually the prank segment that revealed that Riwoo is the main dancer of the group!
