Big Hit Music boy group BTS became the most beloved and astronomically successful K-pop group in the world for any number of reasons, but one particular reason that is cited again and again is how the members maintain as direct a connection as possible with their fans. If you want to learn about BTS, there is already a decade’s worth of blogs and vlogs created by the members themselves that you can dive into. (Granted, a lot of that early content might require you to learn some Korean!) By comparison, the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) personality test is actually a pretty poor way to learn about the members, especially since MBTI isn’t rooted in hard science. However, if you want to learn about their individual MBTIs anyway, just for the sake of fun and curiosity, we have you covered! Here is all of the current MBTI info for BTS members Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook, confirmed with citations.
BTS MBTI for All Members: Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, & Jungkook
- Jin has an MBTI of INTP.
- Suga has an MBTI of ISTP.
- J-Hope has an MBTI of INFJ.
- RM has an MBTI of ENFP.
- Jimin has an MBTI of ESTJ.
- V has an MBTI of INFP.
- Jungkook has an MBTI of ISFP.
Aside from the results for Jungkook, most of the above BTS MBTI information is derived (and still current) from an official BTS YouTube video, “MBTI Lab 1,” published on May 6, 2022. The members had tested for MBTI previously to that video (as part of 2017 BTS Festa and subsequently), so this video was a retest, using a 93-question test. At that time, Jungkook tested as INTP, but he remarked that his middle two letters (N/S T/F) were always changing. Indeed, in a VLive video on June 16, 2022, Jungkook revealed that he had taken the test again and gotten ISFP, and he added, “I think I can never get away from ISFP.”
Additionally, while Jimin actually tested as ESTP in “MBTI Lab 1,” in the follow-up video “MBTI Lab 2” (recorded at the same time as the previous video), Jimin stated he had taken the test only two months prior and gotten ESTJ. And after discussing MBTI with the other members, Jimin decided that “J” was more correct, thus arriving at ESTJ in that video. (Previously, Jimin had tested as ENFJ for 2017 BTS Festa.)
Notably, the MBTI results for Jin, RM, and V did not change between their most recent previous results and the 2022 “MBTI Lab” videos, and they have not changed since either. Suga had previously been INTP before testing as ISTP in the “MBTI Lab” retest, (Suga verified in a BANGTANTV video published on October 30, 2023 that he remains ISTP for MBTI.) and J-Hope had been ESFJ, a wild difference from his current INFP.
Overall, the members demonstrate a pretty even distribution of personality types, except that BTS leans pretty introverted in the current group composition!
