Not all K-pop group names are created equal. Some are eternally memorable, while others are more prone to just raising eyebrows. FNC Entertainment boy group AMPERS&ONE definitely has a name that is on the far end of that spectrum, but we won’t say which end. Nonetheless, they carry excitement as the next boy group to debut at FNC since the debut of P1Harmony (with a full-blown sci-fi movie, no less!) back in October 2020. So here is the full answer to when exactly Kamden, Brian, Jiho, Siyun, Kyrell, Mackiah, and Seungmo made their debut in K-pop as AMPERS&ONE.
AMPERS&ONE Made Their Debut on November 15, 2023 with AMPERSAND ONE
AMPERS&ONE debuted on November 15, 2023 at 6:00 p.m. KST with first single album AMPERSAND ONE. A fan showcase was held on the same day, both offline and online, at Blue Square MasterCard Hall at 8:00 p.m. KST. Album preorders began on November 3, 2023, with three versions offered: “On and On,” “Sweet & Sour,” and “Sheesh.” In turn, the tracklist for AMPERSAND ONE contains three songs with those exact same names: “On and On” (title track), “Sweet & Sour,” and “Sheesh.” Kamden notably contributed lyrics to “On and On,” whose music video was released at the time of debut.
AMPERS&ONE went on to perform on a music show for the first time on November 16, 2023 at M Countdown with “On and On.”
Incidentally, at the time that the debut date had been announced, FNC had not even fully revealed what the seven members looked like. However, Na Kamden, Brian, and Choi Jiho were already known to the public for participating in the 2023 Mnet survival competition Boys Planet. (Brian and Jiho entered as FNC trainees, while Kamden belonged to Yuehua Entertainment at the time.) Siyun had also previously been a WM Ggumnamu trainee, and before that he had featured on YG Treasure Box (which created Treasure). Strikingly, more than half of AMPERS&ONE hails from outside of South Korea, with Mackiah being from Australia, Brian being from Canada, and both Kyrell and Kamden being from Seattle. Jiho and Seungmo are from Seoul, while Siyun is from Incheon.
