Between 2018 and 2019, the survival competition series YG Treasure Box determined the composition of a new YG Entertainment boy group, and following an extra shake-up or two after that, the group achieved its beloved final form. Treasure originally debuted on August 7, 2020 with the single album The First Step : Chapter One and the lead single “Boy.” To learn how old the Treasure members are today and also back at debut, here is the current age and birthday for Choi Hyunsuk, Jihoon, Yoshi, Junkyu, Yoon Jaehyuk, Asahi, Doyoung, Haruto, Park Jeongwoo, and So Junghwan (and the birth date of former members Mashiho and Bang Ye Dam).
How Old Explained: Age and Birthday for Each of the Treasure Members
- Choi Hyunsuk is 25 years old and was born on April 21, 1999.
- Jihoon is 24 years old and was born on March 14, 2000.
- Yoshi is 24 years old and was born on May 15, 2000.
- Junkyu is 23 years old and was born on September 9, 2000.
- Yoon Jaehyuk is 23 years old and was born on July 23, 2001.
- Asahi is 22 years old and was born on August 20, 2001.
- Doyoung is 20 years old and was born on December 4, 2003.
- Haruto is 20 years old and was born on April 5, 2004.
- Park Jeongwoo is 19 years old and was born on September 28, 2004.
- So Junghwan is 19 years old and was born on February 18, 2005.
Former member Mashiho was born on March 25, 2001. Former member Bang Ye Dam was born on May 7, 2002. Mashiho and Bang Ye Dam both departed Treasure on November 8, 2022 in order to recover health and to pursue music producing, respectively.
Turning back the clock, this means that the members were originally the following ages when they debuted in August 2020: Choi Hyunsuk was 21, Jihoon was 20, Yoshi was 20, Junkyu was 19, Mashiho was 19, Yoon Jaehyuk was 19, Asahi was 18 (nearly 19), Bang Ye Dam was 18, Doyoung was 16, Haruto was 16, Park Jeongwoo was 15, and So Junghwan was 15.
That makes So Junghwan the maknae of Treasure, meaning he is the youngest member. Meanwhile, Choi Hyunsuk is the oldest member of Treasure, and uniquely, both he and Jihoon share the leader role in Treasure. A K-pop group with more than one leader is exceptionally rare, though, for example, Pledis Entertainment boy group Seventeen has different leaders for its subunits.
