K-pop was born in South Korea, but it’s a gift that belongs to the world now — and the companies themselves are embracing that. Across 2019 and 2020, JYP Entertainment and Sony Music Entertainment Japan collaborated for the first season of Nizi Project, a show that created a Japanese girl group that would target a global audience. That group is of course NiziU, who ultimately debuted on December 2, 2020 with Step and a step, and their success since then has been nothing short of amazing!
