Boynextdoor debuted amid a lot of anticipation back in May 2023, as the first K-pop boy group from Zico’s KOZ Entertainment under the HYBE umbrella. In a rather unusual move, they decided to release three singles for their debut, each with a music video filmed in Los Angeles and contributing to one overall story. It was a really charming introduction to the group, with members Sungho, Riwoo, Jaehyun, Taesan, Leehan, and Woonhak all living up to the wholesome premise that was promised by their group name. After that, they followed it up with a slightly edgier and more somber comeback. But that was then, and this is now! Fans are craving another comeback. The Boynextdoor Comeback Happened on April 15, 2024 with HOW?
Boynextdoor came back on April 15, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. KST with HOW?, their second mini-album. This was first announced on March 18, 2024 with a cryptic video teaser, entitled “HOW can this happen?” The tracklist for HOW? contains six tracks in total: “Our,” “Amnesia,” “So Let’s See the Stars,” “Earth, Wind & Fire” (title track), “Dear. My Darling,” and “Earth, Wind & Fire (English Version).” HOW? is available to purchase from various retailers, including the likes of Target (which offers an exclusive photocard) and Amazon, among others.
Previously, Boynextdoor released their first EP / mini-album on September 4, 2023 at 6:00 p.m. KST, called WHY.. The album contains six songs in total: “돌아버리겠다 (But I Like You),” “One and Only,” “Serenade,” “Crying,” “뭣 같아 (But Sometimes),” and “ABCDLOVE.” The first three tracks were of course the three singles that Boynextdoor debuted with back in May 2023, while the latter three tracks were new. “뭣 같아 (But Sometimes)” is the title track for WHY.., and Boynextdoor members Jaehyun, Taesan, and Woonhak contributed to the songwriting in some capacity on each of the three new songs on the album.
WHY.. was released in “Moody” and “Dazed” packaging versions, which each received concept photos and films. A teaser video for the lead music video was released on August 31, 2023 at 11:00 p.m. KST ahead of the full WHY.. release.
Additionally, on September 4, 2023 at 8:00 p.m. KST, Mnet / M2 YouTube aired a new special with Boynextdoor, called Boynextdoor 2Night, which appears to be a follow-up to their debut showcase entitled Boynextdoor Tonight! A month later, on October 11, 2023, Boynextdoor released an “ABCDLOVE” music video as well.
